Doing hair for me has been quite the journey. It is something that I find myself coming back to again and again. I have never really resonated with “the beauty industry”, I always felt it imposed unrealistic beauty standards for all. That’s why I opened Tumbleweed, in hopes of creating a gender-neutral space where we could celebrate our individuality and creativity!

I started my career working at a Bumble and Bumble network salon in Los Angeles where I learned cutting and coloring techniques from many talented stylists. I continued my education at Vidal Sassoon and learned precision cutting as well as advanced razor techniques at Bumble and Bumble University in New York. I also apprenticed a barber and learned classic barbering techniques at Ludlow Blunt in NYC. I recently took a shag cutting class from Jayne Matthews, owner of Edo Salon and “Mother of the modern shag” where I was super inspired to learn Jayne’s signature shag techniques. I’m excited to bring those techniques to Humboldt County and hopefully do the modern shag justice! I strive to bring out everyone’s individuality and highlight the features that make people feel confident and empowered. I am looking forward to meeting you!
